HEAT REQUIREMENT GUIDE

We would always recommend consulting a heating engineer as there are a number of factors involved in calculating the heat requirement accurately. This guide is provided as a guide only and we cannot be responsible for the size of radiator chosen as a result of its use.

To calculate the BTU/hour required, complete the following simple form:
 1. Enter your Room Dimensions (in feet)
Width (feet): Length (feet): Height (feet):
 2. Select your Room Type
Lounge / Dining Room / Bathroom
Bedroom
Kitchen / Common Area
 3. Other Features
Is your room North facing? Yes
Does your room have French windows? Yes
Does your room have Double Glazing? Yes
 4. Calculate BTUs/Hour

 5. Result
  BTU/hour
To convert to Watts divide by 3.412.

This guide gives the total heat requirement for the room. The radiator you require may not need to provide all of this as other radiators in the room must be taken into account. Outputs for individual radiators are given in the drop down boxes on the specific radiator page.
NOTE: Radiator outputs on this website are given at Delta T 50oC in accordance with BS EN442 and European Legislation.
